West Ham really have been blazing quite a trail in the transfer market this summer.
The Hammers beer789 have snapped up just about anybody and everybody capable of kicking a ball as they bid to challenge higher up the table this year.
After manager David Moyes was promptly replaced by Manuel Pellegrini, the former Manchester City manager went about the business of completely overhauling the squad.
West Ham have now ushered seven new faces through the door and it could be that even more are set to follow.
However, the signing that will perhaps be of biggest interest to football fans, is that of Jack Wilshere.
The former Arsenal man never really fulfilled his potential at the Emirates, due mainly to a string of chastening injuries that saw him spend more time on the sidelines than on the pitch.
Now, he has been given a second chance at the Hammers and he will be determined to grasp hold of it with both hands.
Having turned down a contract extension at Arsenal, Wilshere will be desperately hoping his seemingly fragile body can hold out so that he can play a significant role in the West Ham revolution.
With that in mind, the powers-that-be at West Ham will curate a very unique and specific fitness plan for Wilshere to try and ensure that he avoids further frustrating injury.
Sounds good right? Well, it’s not that simple.
Pellegrini admitted that the above-mentioned plan will mean beer789 that Wilshere will have to miss certain games throughout the season, but the Chilean is hoping that it will help maximise his impact when he is on the field.
“We are doing a plan with the doctor with him and with the physical manager [Jose Cabello],” said the former Premier League winning manager.
“We are trying to do a different thing with him so he can be comfortable and not to try to play every game of the season because he must work in a different way.
“Undoubtedly he had quite a few injuries in the past. But the season he played at Bournemouth he played a lot of games. Last season he did not have too many injuries.
“We will try to keep him working in different ways to the rest of the squad. At the end of the year we will see what happens with him. But at the moment he is working well and in the way he likes.”
In theory, it seems like a good idea.
One can only hope that Wilshere is finally able to fulfill his potential and avoid beer789 those niggling injuries that have categorised his career so far.
If he stays fit, then West Ham have got themselves quite the bargain.
